Acura unveiled its Nexera Vision concept at The Quail on August 14, 2026, as part of Monterey Car Week, marking the start of the brand's 40th-anniversary celebrations.

The concept will influence the styling of future Acura models, beginning with the 4th-generation RDX Hybrid, according to Acura.

We are using the 40th anniversary of Acura as a springboard to our future, with the Acura Nexera Vision serving as the design language for future Acura models.
— Yasutake Tsuchida, Acura creative director and vice president of auto design

Tsuchida emphasized the design philosophy: 'Our goal with this new design direction is to define Acura performance through disciplined proportions, sculpted form and the seamless integration of advanced technology, creating an expression that is both progressive and authentic to the brand.'

He also highlighted sustainability: 'Sustainability is playing an increasingly important role in how premium quality and performance are defined, and the Acura brand is embracing innovative material technologies that bring fresh possibilities to the customer experience while supporting broader environmental ambitions.'

Acura's sales in the previous year, down from its peak of 209,610 in 2005.

The Nexera Vision features butterfly doors and rides on 22-inch centerlock wheels, both firsts for Acura. It is equipped with high-performance carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes.

Its lighting signature is inspired by Acura's 'A' mark logo, with headlights and taillights that are invisible when turned off—a feature called 'phantom lighting.' The lights form an arrow-like shape emulating the logo.

Inside, the concept features a fixed driver's seat with an adjustable steering wheel and pedal box, and uses sustainable materials including recycled aluminum, Alcantara with certified post-consumer recycled polyester, and CircuLeather. Hot pink accents appear on seatbelts and ambient lighting.

The exterior includes a forged carbon-fiber aero-channel fascia, rear diffuser, rocker panels, and inner door structures. The rear deck starts high and peaks at a sharp point, accentuated by taillights shaped like the 'A' logo.

Designed at Acura Design California studio in Los Angeles, the Nexera Vision will be showcased at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance Concept Lawn on August 16, 2026.

Acura confirmed the Nexera Vision is not a preview of a new production sports car and is not expected to reach production. Instead, its design language will appear on future models, starting with the RDX. The next-generation RDX Hybrid is expected to arrive in the 2028 model year.

The unveiling follows Acura's cancellation of its in-house electric vehicle projects, including the RSX SUV, due to a cooling EV market. The brand is focusing on hybrids to rebuild its lineup, with the RDX as a key volume seller.
