Authorities arrested a 38-year-old man from Downey, California, on Sunday at the Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes. Deputies recovered a 16-round magazine containing hollow-point ammunition from his pants pocket. Inside his vehicle, parked at the golf course, they found a loaded pistol with a round chambered and an additional loaded magazine containing hollow-point ammunition.

Investigators from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Major Crimes Bureau and the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force executed a search warrant at Taele's home in Downey. During the search, they recovered an illegally modified AR-platform rifle, a.45-caliber pistol, body armor, high-capacity magazines, ammunition, and multiple notebooks containing concerning statements.
The investigation is being conducted jointly by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force, and the US Secret Service. The sheriff's department stated they have identified no credible threat to the surrounding communities.
