The accident occurred on national highway number 24 near El Karma village, approximately 55 kilometers east of Algiers. The bus was traveling from Setif province when it veered off the road and overturned.
Emergency vehicles dispatched to the scene
Authorities described the incident as a 'tragic' traffic accident. Rescue and evacuation operations were ongoing following the crash, with 11 ambulances and three search and rescue vehicles dispatched to the location.
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed condolences to the Algerian people following the accident.
