Charity cyclist Bob Montgomery, 82, died on a Monday, one day after completing a 5,200km fundraising ride across Australia.
His journey, named 'One Last Ride', began in Broome, Western Australia, and ended in Bowral, Australia, undertaken alongside his 18-year-old grandson, Tom Malcolm.

The ride raised approximately A$105,000 for MND NSW. Montgomery had raised almost A$300,000 on previous rides.
Montgomery died in a single-vehicle crash in the southern Sydney suburb of Arncliffe, after a car collided with the side of the M5 East tunnel. However, MND NSW CEO Liam O'Meara said Montgomery suffered a medical episode after a party in Sydney.
Emergency services treated him at the scene before he was taken to St George Hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
A 79-year-old passenger was treated at the scene and taken to hospital in stable condition.
Montgomery noted many people met along the way generously threw cash in, which was fantastic.
According to his interview with ABC, Montgomery was motivated by meeting people and enjoying a 'beer or two' at each stopover.

Liam O'Meara, CEO of MND NSW, said he was 'deeply saddened' by Montgomery's sudden passing and described his recent ride as 'nothing short of inspirational'.
Montgomery's family said his death was 'unexpected' but 'peaceful', and that his wife of 59 years, Jenny, was by his side when he died.
He was inspired to take on the challenge after losing a cousin to motor neurone disease.
