Customs dogs at Düsseldorf Airport prevented a cocaine smuggling attempt during a routine check at the airport. Two dogs, named 'Jerry Lee' and 'Oleg', alerted officers to a specific suitcase during the inspection.
Following the dogs' alert, an X-ray examination was conducted, which confirmed suspicions regarding the luggage. Customs officers at Düsseldorf Airport found approximately nine kilograms of cocaine within the items.
The seizure included approximately six kilograms of cocaine hidden in shoes, backpacks, and handbags. An additional three kilograms of cocaine were found packaged in four packs of apparent lollipops that had been disguised with a red glaze.

The Düsseldorf Customs Investigation Office (Zollfahndungsamt) reported the discovery of the approximately nine kilograms of cocaine. The suspect is a 68-year-old Hungarian national who traveled from Brazil via Lisbon.
The 68-year-old suspect was arrested. An investigating judge later ordered pretrial detention.
