Hendrik Võrno, a resident of Viimsi Parish, Estonia, has developed a specialized trap to combat Spanish slugs in his garden after discovering the pests had killed his petunias and filled his plant pots. Võrno estimated there were hundreds of slugs across his property.
The trap uses a mixture of dry yeast and sugar within an inner cylindrical part to attract slugs through the smell of fermentation. It features a lower-rimmed container to hold slug poison. To prevent hedgehogs, birds, and other animals from reaching the contents, the device is secured by driving a stake through the lid into the ground.

Following an Instagram video about the device, Võrno started a company 48 hours later. He currently operates nine 3D printers in his garage to produce the trap houses, stating that if operations run smoothly, 150 traps can be produced per day.
