Former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen has said that Israeli spies visited Iran's Fordo nuclear facility multiple times. Cohen, who led the Israeli foreign intelligence agency from 2015 to 2021, made the remarks in an interview.

Cohen also said that the bombing of the facility was, in his words, 'the fulfillment of all my dreams.' US President Donald Trump stated that the US Army attacked the Fordo complex in June 2025 and completely destroyed it. The actual extent of the damage remained unclear at the time.

The Fordo facility, located about 150 kilometers south of Tehran, enriched uranium in centrifuges. Like other Iranian nuclear facilities, it is situated deep underground, with tunnel systems extending up to 90 meters into the mountain range, according to reports.
Iran maintains its nuclear program is exclusively for civilian use, while Western states have accused it for years of seeking nuclear weapons. The Iran War, which began with attacks by the US and Israel, started at the end of February.
During Cohen's tenure as Mossad chief, Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fachrisadeh was killed in Iran in 2020. In 2024, three men were sentenced to death for his murder; the Iranian judiciary stated that the men acted on behalf of Israel. Cohen has indicated several times that he wants to enter politics, but has not yet done so.
