An explosion occurred at a restaurant on Kudrinskaya Square in Moscow, Russia, on Saturday evening, leaving three people dead and several others injured.
The explosion took place at approximately 8:10 p.m. local time, according to reports.
The Baza Telegram channel identified the location of the blast as the Balzi Rossi Italian restaurant.
The victims killed in the explosion included a restaurant customer, a security guard who stopped a woman carrying an explosive device, and the woman herself.
Russia's National Anti-Terrorism Committee stated that a homemade explosive device was detonated at the restaurant, following earlier speculation that a gas canister might have been the cause.
While the Interior Ministry reported 15 injuries, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee and state media updated the number of injured people to 21.
Some Telegram channels claimed that reports suggested a Russian general's birthday was being celebrated at the restaurant at the time of the explosion, though Russian authorities have not confirmed this.
