The production of what is reported to be the final Fast & Furious film, reportedly titled Fast Forever, is facing challenges regarding its budget, according to actor Alan Ritchson. Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Ritchson stated that Universal and Vin Diesel are attempting to resolve major problems behind the scenes.
Ritchson noted that the core issue is the budget, stating the film's cost has risen too much and the current plan does not appear sustainable. He indicated the studio considers the film too expensive and suggested the production may need to utilize a more efficient shooting method or a lower budget to maintain the franchise's scale while controlling spending.

While Ritchson clarified that the 11th film has not been cancelled, he noted there are major problems to be solved. Reports suggest Vin Diesel is clashing with Universal over the budget. According to the March report, the production of Fast Forever is in development with Michael Lesslie writing the screenplay. Lesslie is the sixth screenwriter to work on the final film, following Christina Hodson, Oren Uziel, Aaron Rabin, Zach Dean, and Gary Scott Thompson. A March report indicated that the film did not yet have a completed screenplay and that most of the cast had not signed contracts.
According to reports, no official cast has been announced for the film. While Louis Leterrier, who directed Fast X, is expected to return as director, this has not been officially confirmed. The production team has reportedly not yet received the high budget it requested for the project.
