A forest fire broke out on Monday in the De Rosmolen nature reserve in the Netherlands, near the German border, due to causes that remain unknown.
The fire in the eastern nature reserve is not yet under control, according to Dutch security authorities.
Dutch security authorities stated that the fire had spread until early morning, but the situation has since stabilized. A spokesperson for the authorities noted that the wind has died down a bit, which is favorable for preventing further spread.

Emergency response and regional impact
Around 250 firefighters and firefighting helicopters from the Dutch army are deployed to combat the fire.
Smoke and the smell of burning from the Dutch forest fire have reached Germany. In the Kleve district of North Rhine-Westphalia, the population was advised via the NINA warning app to keep windows and doors closed as a precaution.
But there is no danger to the population.
The fire department in the Kleve district stated there is no danger to the population from the smoke. Dutch fire departments have not yet requested assistance from the fire departments in the Kleve district.
Transport and Infrastructure
Train traffic between Boxmeer and Venray in the Netherlands was initially suspended due to the fire. Meanwhile, traffic at Weeze Airport in Germany is operating normally.
