Since the ceasefire began on October 10, 2025, cumulative deaths are either 1,207 or 1,209, with injuries ranging from 3,914 to 3,943, again both from ministry sources.
Since the ceasefire, 803 bodies have been recovered from under the rubble. Thousands more remain buried, as rescue teams lack equipment and face ongoing Israeli attacks, according to the ministry.
Ministry Report Details Massacres of Families
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza published a report titled 'Massacres of Palestinian Families' covering October 2023 to July 2026. It states that 2,276 families have been completely wiped out, with 8,858 individuals killed from those families.
The report further notes 60,737 children have been orphaned — 52,095 lost their fathers, 5,929 lost their mothers, and 2,713 lost both parents. Regional breakdowns include Gaza City (19,700 children lost fathers), North Gaza (12,032), Khan Younis (8,839), Central Gaza (6,362), and Rafah (5,162).
Additionally, 2,348 families have been reduced to a single survivor each, totaling 8,340 individuals originally in those families, while 4,903 families have more than one survivor remaining.
