Data from the Gaza Health Ministry's Information Center showed a sharp increase in fatalities across the Gaza Strip in July. The ministry said 152 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks on various cities in the Gaza Strip during the month, making it the highest monthly death toll since the beginning of this year. The Gaza Health Ministry is part of the Hamas-run government and its figures cannot be independently verified. Note that while some sources frame the July death toll as occurring despite a ceasefire, others make no mention of the ceasefire context.

According to Gaza's Health Ministry, the July victims included 21 children, 14 women and 4 elderly people. The ministry said the figures reflected the direct impact of the continued escalation on civilians and densely populated residential areas.
Local health sources reported that Israeli forces targeted an area where civilians had gathered on Telatini Street in Gaza City, killing one Palestinian and wounding several people. Separate incidents included an Israeli drone strike on a house in the Hayy al-Reis neighborhood in southern Gaza City, which killed two Palestinians, and another strike on a group in the Gazali area in northern Gaza City, killing one and seriously wounding one.
Other attacks reported by local sources included a drone strike on the eastern entrance of Deir al-Balah, killing one Palestinian and wounding many, and a strike near Ahmed Pharmacy on Third Street in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City, killing two people and wounding many. A Palestinian wounded in an Israeli airstrike in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip died of his wounds.
Ceasefire violations and broader toll
A ceasefire agreement in Gaza took effect on Oct. 10, 2025. Gaza's Health Ministry said Israeli attacks have killed 1,222 people and injured 4,053 in Gaza since the ceasefire took effect. Since that date, 804 bodies have been recovered from under the rubble in the Gaza Strip, according to reports. Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 2023 have killed 73,349 people and wounded 174,162, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.
Thousands of bodies are still under the rubble in the Gaza Strip. Israel's military campaign has destroyed about 90% of Gaza's civilian infrastructure, and the UN has estimated Gaza reconstruction costs at around $70 billion. Gaza's Health Ministry said Israel has continued to violate the ceasefire in Gaza since it took effect on Oct. 10, 2025.
