A golfer was struck by lightning on a Friday at Pebble Creek Golf Course near Cincinnati, Ohio, US, during a thunderstorm.
The incident occurred while Chris Schiavone was recording a video of companions attempting to move a golf cart that had become stuck in mud during heavy rain.
In the footage, Schiavone is seen laughing at three presumed friends who were being drenched while trying to push the cart up a small grassy incline. The video ends with a flash of light and a loud bang, capturing the moment lightning hit Schiavone's arm and threw him to the ground.
Injuries and recovery
Meteorologist Matt Devitt said the lightning struck Schiavone on the arm. Schiavone reported experiencing a temporary loss of sensation in his body and affected hearing following the strike, but noted his health was improving.
Schiavone suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is currently recovering. After the incident, Schiavone told Devitt he was 'unbelievably lucky'.
