Seventeen Yemeni soldiers and officers were killed in an attack by the Houthi group using ballistic missiles and explosive-laden drones, according to the Yemeni military.
The Joint Operations Command of the Yemeni Armed Forces stated the attack targeted forces conducting operations against terrorism, organized crime, and networks smuggling weapons and drugs to the Houthis.
The attack also caused several injuries among Yemeni forces.
Local media reported that the Houthi attacks targeted government forces in the Marib and Hadramawt governorates of Yemen.
Houthi responsibility claimed
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree claimed responsibility for the attacks, describing them as a “large-scale” operation against Saudi-backed forces in Al-Ruwaik, Al-Abr, and Al-Thaniyah, as well as other military camps.
Saree said the attacks involved a large number of ballistic missiles and drones.
The Yemeni government's Emergency Forces reported casualties and material losses in Houthi attacks on several military camps and units, though no specific figures were provided.

Yemeni leadership ordered measures to prevent similar attacks and a “deterrent response,” according to a statement from the Yemeni military.
Intermittent fighting has occurred across several front lines in Yemen since early July, resulting in dozens of casualties on both sides.
The war in Yemen, which began more than 11 years ago, is fought between government forces backed by a Saudi-led coalition and the Iran-backed Houthi group.
The Iran-backed Houthi group has controlled the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and other parts of the country since September 21, 2014.
