A hunter discovered a male torso wrapped in plastic foil in a wooded area in Glücksburg, Germany, on Tuesday afternoon. The discovery was made in the Friedeholz wooded area near Pugumer See in the state of Schleswig-Holstein.
Authorities stated that the circumstances surrounding the discovery indicate a violent crime. The Flensburg public prosecutor's office and a homicide commission launched an investigation into the matter on Tuesday afternoon. The identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear.
On Wednesday, forensic teams and approximately 40 police officers searched the woodland surrounding the site for further traces. An autopsy of the body was scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday.
