The Iranian Armed Forces’ Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters announced that ships belonging to companies or countries receiving payments from Iran’s frozen assets will be banned from passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
The statement, delivered by spokesperson Ibrahim Zolfaqari, directly responds to a proposal by US President Donald Trump. Trump had said that during ongoing attacks against Iran, any damage to ships and cargo would be compensated from Iranian assets frozen under US control.
The proposal is unlawful.
The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters is the unit of the Iranian Armed Forces responsible for managing wartime operations.
