Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with members of the Basij Health Community Think Tank, according to a statement from the Iranian Presidency.
During the meeting, Pezeshkian characterized the current landscape of conflict as more complex than previous eras, stating that the enemy aims to collapse Iran from within.
Therefore we must proceed task- and issue-focused.
The President proposed a governance approach centered on neighborhoods and mosques, noting that mosques can play a central role in providing services to the public.
Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of ensuring public participation in social activities and warned against alienating the population.
We should not push people away from us, otherwise we will suffer.
Priorities for disadvantaged groups
Regarding health sector priorities, Pezeshkian stated that services for disadvantaged groups should be a primary focus. This includes households led by women, people living in remote areas, and those facing poverty and unemployment within the health field.
Pezeshkian called for these specific demographics to be given priority in the administration's approach.
