An Israeli drone hit a motorcycle in the northern town of Jabalia, killing one Palestinian and injuring three others. A drone strike targeting a gathering of civilians in Deir al-Balah killed one Palestinian. Another drone strike near Al-Qarara Bridge in Khan Younis killed one Palestinian and injured another.
Israeli military vehicles opened fire toward tents sheltering displaced people in al-Mawasi, wounding three. Another Palestinian was injured by Israeli gunfire in al-Mawasi, southwest of Khan Younis. Israeli gunboats also opened fire and injured three fishermen off Gaza City's coast.
Casualty figures since ceasefire began
Since the ceasefire took effect on Oct 10, 2025, the Israeli army has killed at least 1,203 Palestinians and injured 3,900 others, according to Gaza's Health Ministry. Other reports state that 1,207 Palestinians have been killed and 3,914 injured, with 803 bodies recovered from under the rubble.
Since October 2023, the Israeli military has killed at least 73,333 Palestinians and injured 174,023 in Gaza, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Other sources report more than 73,000 killed and over 174,000 injured since that time.
Diplomatic efforts continue
Hamas said its negotiation delegation will travel to Cairo, Egypt, for talks on implementing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. On Oct 9, 2025 stated that US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had approved the first phase of a Gaza ceasefire plan, which took effect on Oct 10, 2025.
An unverified report stated that US President Donald Trump's Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff announced on Jan 14, 2025, the launch of the second phase of the Gaza plan. A national committee has been formed but Israel has not allowed its entry into Gaza.
