Virginia Representative Jen Kiggans (R-Va.) and former Representative Elaine Luria (D-Va.) will face off in the November election to represent Virginia's 2nd Congressional District.
The 2nd Congressional District extends from New Church on the Maryland border, through the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, to Virginia Beach.
Kiggans unseated Luria during the 2022 election. During her time in the House, Kiggans has supported several policy objectives of President Trump, including the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility America Act.
Democratic primary and candidate profiles
Luria, a retired Naval commander who served two terms from 2019 to 2023, has secured the Democratic nomination for the district. She previously represented Hampton Roads and Virginia's Eastern Shore.
