Lithuanian Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas stated that Russia is considering conducting unconventional kinetic attacks against critical infrastructure in the Baltic region.
Kaunas noted that if Ukraine defends itself through attacks on Russia, some Ukrainian drones may be captured or crash. Russia possesses some of these units and can assemble them into functional devices, creating a theoretical possibility that such drones could be used in a false flag operation.
It is likely that Russia could use Ukrainian-made drones for this purpose
The Defense Minister said Lithuania is gathering intelligence and sees that Russia is considering possible provocations in the Baltic region, including false flag operations.
Kaunas said there is no specific date for such actions and that Lithuania is monitoring Russia’s planning process. He added that NATO allies, including Poland and Baltic neighbors, are aware of the situation.
Moscow has denied allegations that it is planning attacks against NATO members. According to Kaunas, Russia has accused Baltic countries of allowing their airspace to be used for Ukrainian strikes, claims which Lithuania has rejected.
