In Dnipropetrovsk, a mass attack killed six people and wounded ten, including a 6-year-old girl, boys aged 11 and 17, and their parents, according to officials. Two other children were pulled alive from under the rubble. In Poltava region, a drone strike killed one person at a private enterprise warehouse.
In Lviv, the number of injured rose to 30, according to reports, though earlier accounts put the figure at 20. Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said at least 20 people were injured and more than 20 residential buildings, a school, and two kindergartens were damaged. Lviv Deputy Mayor Serhiy Kiral called it the most significant attack on the city since a drone strike in March.
In Kyiv, a 31-year-old man was killed and two others wounded by ballistic missiles. In the Brovary district of the Kyiv region, five people were wounded, including a minor. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported one person killed in the region.
It was an ordinary home, blown into smithereens by a ballistic missile.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said a family of five was killed at home. He blamed 'insufficient or delayed' air defense supplies for the deaths.
Russia launched more than 70 missiles, including a significant number of ballistic missiles, and more than 280 attack drones, according to Ukrainian sources. The Ukrainian air force said it intercepted or suppressed 265 drones and 55 missiles. Preliminary information indicated that 11 missiles and 17 drones impacted across 20 locations.
Poland scrambled fighter jets and put air defense systems on alert after confirming 'a violation of Polish airspace' during the Russian attack, according to Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Polish police found a crater and debris in a field after an unidentified object vanished from radar. Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated the object was a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile. An F-16 was dispatched but the object disappeared from radar; a helicopter later located a probable crash site near the village of Tarnawa-Kolonia.
Russia's Defense Ministry described its overnight barrage as 'a massive strike' targeting military positions and infrastructure. The ministry said its forces shot down at least 258 Ukrainian long-range drones overnight. In Penza, Governor Oleg Melnichenko said a Wildberries depot was set ablaze, one person injured, and 200 workers evacuated. Wildberries reported that its warehouse in Sarapul, Udmurtia, was struck by a Ukrainian drone.
The attacks were the latest in a series of large-scale Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities, now occurring on a nearly weekly basis. The war has been ongoing for almost four and a half years.
