An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) washed ashore at Çınar Beach in the Akçakoca district of Düzce, Türkiye, on August 10, 2026, according to DHA (Doğan Haber Ajansı).
Citizens who spotted an object in the sea notified the 112 Emergency Call Center. Coast Guard Command teams dispatched to the area identified the object as a UAV.
Expert teams and SAS commandos were dispatched from the Ereğli district of Zonguldak to the area. Initial examination determined the UAV was of Russian manufacture.
Security measures were taken in the area before the UAV was retrieved. The aircraft was lifted out of the sea using a crane.
The UAV was loaded onto a pickup truck belonging to the Akçakoca Municipality Police Department. It was then taken to the Coast Guard Command for examination.
