Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong announced changes to his Cabinet on Wednesday, appointing Coordinating Minister for National Security K Shanmugam as Senior Minister and bringing labour leader Ng Chee Meng back as a minister.
K Shanmugam, a senior counsel who entered politics in 1988 and has helmed the home affairs ministry since 2015, was appointed Senior Minister. Ng Chee Meng, who left parliament after his team lost in Sengkang GRC at the 2020 General Election and returned to the Cabinet after winning re-election last year, has also been named to the Cabinet.
Ms Jasmin Lau was appointed Acting Manpower Minister, according to reports.
