Tom Holland and Zendaya attended the London premiere of *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* on Wednesday evening, marking the latest chapter in a franchise that began with Holland's debut as Peter Parker in 2016. The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, is now showing in UK cinemas.
Zendaya wore a floor-length Tamara Ralph champagne silk crepe gown with spider web-like straps to the white-carpet event.
Early reviews have been largely positive. Clarisse Loughrey of *The Independent* awarded four stars and called it "the best Spider-Man movie in more than 20 years." Robbie Collin of *The Telegraph* also gave four stars, noting the film "restores the gawkiness the franchise has been missing." David Rooney of *The Hollywood Reporter* praised its balance of "self-reflection with action." Peter Bradshaw of *The Guardian* gave three stars and singled out Zendaya's performance as a highlight, writing that she "saves" the film.
The film follows Peter Parker after he voluntarily erased himself from the memories of his loved ones, leaving no one aware of his identity. A mysterious crime wave poses one of the strongest threats he has ever faced, and he undergoes a surprising physical evolution. Sadie Sink joins the cast in a lead role, though her character remains a secret. Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, and Mark Ruffalo also star.
When asked whether *Brand New Day* is his final Spider-Man film, Holland replied: "You're going to have to watch this movie and that might answer your question."
