The 32nd Augustibluus festival began on Friday in Haapsalu. The three-day event, which takes place on the first weekend of August, is the largest blues festival in the Baltic states.
Thousands of people gather in Haapsalu for the festival, where music is staged. In addition to main concerts in the courtyard of the Episcopal Castle, events take place in various locations across the city.
Opening day performances
The first day of the festival featured both young blues artists and seasoned performers on the stage of Haapsalu Castle, offering modern and traditional blues music from six different countries.
Performances on the first day included delta-blues and rock artist Eric Sardinas on the main stage at Haapsalu Episcopal Castle. The a cappella group Estonian Voices also performed on the main stage.
Artists from the United States, including Chicago Blues Hall of Fame member Mike Wheeler and Skyler Saufley, who performs 1940s–1950s west-coast and jump blues, also performed on the opening day.
