US President Donald Trump has threatened to bomb and destroy one Iranian bridge or power plant for each Iranian attack on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, according to a statement posted on his Truth Social platform.

The threat was made on Wednesday, as confirmed by the post on Truth Social.

According to US Central Command, Iran has attacked more than 30 commercial vessels over the past three months. This comes despite a June memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran calling for a ceasefire. Several Iranian attacks on vessels occurred after the June MOU.

The US has already bombed bridges in southern Iran over the last 11 days of fighting, according to reports.

Trump's key condition for a ceasefire is for Iran to stop attacks on ships and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, sources say. He is reportedly considering both a ceasefire and a significant military escalation.
