The leaders of the 'REDKİTLER' and 'Erdoğan Aykut' organized crime groups, Ferhat Delen and Erdoğan Aykut, were captured in Georgia and brought to Turkey via the Sarp Border Gate.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Interior, the operation resulted in the capture of several fugitives, including the leaders of these two groups. While some reports state 6 people were captured and extradited, the Ministry also announced the figure as 7 individuals.
Ferhat Delen, the leader of the 'REDKİTLER' group, was wanted with a red notice for intentional killing, establishing an organization to commit crimes, and the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
Erdoğan Aykut, leader of the 'Erdoğan Aykut' organized crime group, was wanted internationally for armed robbery, theft, and enabling a Turkish citizen or a foreigner to leave the country.
Additional arrests and charges
Bayram Tekkalan, a member of the 'Kule Emre' organized crime group, was also captured in Georgia. He was wanted with a red notice for threatening with a weapon, damaging public property, and possessing unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
Four other individuals, identified as Ş.B., D.Y., H.U., and F.S., were captured and extradited to Turkey. They were wanted with red notices for various crimes, including premeditated intentional killing, armed robbery at night, counterfeiting money, and resisting to prevent the performance of duty.
The extradition process was coordinated by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Turkish Ministry of Justice, and the Turkish General Directorate of Security, which included the Intelligence Presidencies, Interpol Europol Department, and the Anti-Smuggling and Border Gates departments.
Organized crime group leaders will not escape the clutches of the Turkish State.
The Turkish Ministry of Interior expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Artvin Provincial Police Department regarding the operation.
