UK rapper Yung Filly, born Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, is currently on trial in Australia facing charges of sexual assault. He has pleaded not guilty to six counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count of strangulation.
The accused, who is 30 years old, testified that he 'fancied' the woman, who was 20 at the time of the incident. During his testimony regarding the encounter in September 2024, Barrientos stated that 'the vibes were good.' He further testified that 'the sex was great,' describing what he called "grunting and moaning in a good way."
The prosecution presented CCTV from the venue and hotel showing the pair entering the lift. Evidence included images of the woman's injuries, such as deep bruising and bite marks on her face and neck. While Barrientos denied choking or slapping the woman, he admitted to biting her, characterizing these as 'love bites.' He also denied putting his hands down her pants or touching her breast.
The timeline began at the Bar1 nightclub after a performance, where the pair were seen getting into a minivan and traveling to the Intercontinental hotel. Barrientos testified that he did not specifically mention sex when asking her to come to his hotel but believed they would have sex. He stated he let go of her hand because he did not want to be seen on social media.
Regarding the logistics of the night, Barrientos claimed his security guard took the woman's phone as 'standard practice' for privacy. He denied giving her tequila shots, stating they were distributed by the bar manager. While he could not recall and if they chatted during the drive to the hotel, he was permitted to fly back to the UK in September for four months before returning for this trial.
The rapper maintains a significant social media presence, with 1.8 million YouTube subscribers and millions of followers across TikTok and Instagram. He is also recognized for his work with Beta Squad, appearing on the celebrity Bake Off, and presenting shows on BBC Three.
