Ukraine launched a coordinated attack on multiple targets inside Russia and annexed Crimea, striking an oil refinery, a logistics center, and a radar station in the Ryazan region, as well as a base for Russian Black Sea Fleet high-speed boats in Crimea, according to Ukrainian and Russian officials. The operation marks the first major strike on a large Russian oil-processing facility in nearly two weeks.
Ryazan Governor Pavel Malkov reported that 45 drones were shot down over the region overnight. Debris from downed drones caused fires at industrial facilities, damaged a house and a building, and injured six people, he said. Russian sources also reported that online retailer Wildberries evacuated its logistics center in Ryazan for security reasons.
Ukraine's attacks across Russia and annexed Crimea killed at least three people, according to regional authorities. In Taganrog, Russia, a woman was killed and a man was injured by missile debris, while two people were killed in annexed Crimea. The figures vary across reports, with some sources citing only one death in Taganrog.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed on social media that long-range attacks targeted an oil refinery in the Perm region, an export terminal in the Rostov region, and a defense enterprise. He also said Ukraine attacked a logistics center in Ryazan. In a Fox News interview on Tuesday, Zelensky stated that Russia is losing 30,000 soldiers per month and that the initiative is not in President Vladimir Putin's hands.
Analysts from the open-source intelligence project DeepState said Russian forces' focus is on the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk direction, and preparations for a new campaign involving the destruction of settlements are underway. Separately, Russia's Defense Ministry claimed its drones struck two vessels carrying weapons and military equipment east of the Ukrainian port of Odesa. In Ukraine's Kherson region, a man was killed and three people were injured in a Russian drone attack.
The attacks come amid a broader escalation. Zelensky also met with US President Donald Trump and attended the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham during a recent visit to Washington.
