United States House lawmakers have floated an 'AI kill switch' bill, according to a report from Politico. The legislation, expected to be introduced on Thursday, would require AI companies to shut down or throttle their systems on orders from the US Department of Homeland Security.

Politico reported that US Representatives Ted Lieu (D-CA) and Nathaniel Moran (R-TX) are expected to introduce the bill, named the 'AI Kill Switch Act'.
