Participant approval of President Trump's job performance
The poll, which included 1,589 participants aged 18 and over, found that 62% of respondents do not approve of the President's job performance.
Support for Donald Trump varied significantly by political affiliation. In the Economist and YouGov poll, support among Republican voters was 79%, while support among Democratic voters was 4%.
Previous polling data
A Quinnipiac University poll conducted at the end of July showed that 32% of the general electorate found the President's performance successful. That poll reported 76% support for Donald Trump among Republican voters.
US media reports stated that the President's positions on the economy and the Iran war have divided voters.
