A 57-year-old woman, Şenay Tokmak, has died in Yozgat, Turkey, from suspected Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF).
Tokmak, a mother of five residing in Killik village in the Alaca district of Çorum, had a tick attached to her one week before her death.
After falling ill, Tokmak was initially taken to Alaca State Hospital by relatives before being transferred to the Yozgat Bozok University Application and Research Hospital.
She received treatment in the Anesthesia Intensive Care Unit at Yozgat Bozok University Application and Research Hospital.
The death occurred on or around 12.08.2026.
Following her death, Tokmak's body was handed over to her relatives for burial in Killik village.
