LiDAR surveys were conducted covering 4,497 km² in Acre and Amazonas, Brazil.
In 2024, LiDAR surveys were conducted over a territory of 4,497 km² located in the Acre and Amazonas regions of Brazil. These surveys successfully identified 432 earthworks, of which only 36 had been previously documented.
A significant majority of these detected earthworks, specifically 92%, were located within 210 km of Rio Branco, while 8% were found near Lábrea. It was noted that LiDAR penetration in the Lábrea area was approximately 10% lower due to denser forest cover.
