In late April, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), led by Brendan Carr, ordered early renewal of broadcast licenses for eight stations owned by ABC, following criticism from former US President Donald Trump and Melania Trump. The early renewal applies to eight ABC licenses, and interested parties have until August 5 to reply to petitions to deny them.
