Sheikh Hasina was ousted from power in Bangladesh.
In July 2024, a political upheaval in Bangladesh resulted in the ousting of Sheikh Hasina's government. Following her removal from power, Hasina fled to India, where she has since been living in exile.
Relations between India and Bangladesh have grown strained since her departure. While Dhaka continues to formally seek her extradition, India has stated that the matter is under consideration.
