The South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism identified the massage parlor payments during a 2016 audit of the KFA but kept them confidential.
During a 2016 audit of the Korea Football Association (KFA), the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism identified payments for visits to massage parlors that reportedly offered sexual services. According to reports, these incidents were identified during the audit but were not made public at that time.
The findings were based on documents from a state audit and credit card statements. While these visits were identified, it has not been proven whether the referees were influenced to make one-sided decisions in matches involving the South Korean national team.
