Nintendo announced a live-action The Legend of Zelda movie in 2023, and it is set to release on April 30, 2027. The film is being made with Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Wes Ball is directing, with Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad producing. Cast announcements have included Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda, with Australian actor Uli Latukefu reported as Ganondorf and Dichen Lachman confirmed as Impa. Yvonne Strahovski and Sam Neill are also in the movie in as-yet-unknown roles.
Filming has officially wrapped. Nintendo and Sony have not formally confirmed more than one Zelda movie, though rumors have mentioned a possible trilogy, and Hasbro and Nintendo are partnering on figurines based on the series.
