The 2027 Genesis GV60 Magma has a base price of $69,950 before a $1,545 destination fee, bringing the total starting price to $71,495. This vehicle marks the first production model from Magma, Genesis' performance sub-brand launched in late 2024.
The GV60 Magma produces 641 hp (478 kW / 650 PS) and 583 lb-ft (790 Nm) of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 164 mph. The EPA range estimate is 221 miles, supported by an 84 kWh battery pack.
Initial sales will be limited to California, New Jersey, and New York. The vehicle is available in four colors: Magma Orange, Uyuni White, Vik Black, and Makalu Gray Matte. It features exclusive 21-inch forged wheels, a lowered stance, a wider body, and a rear wing compared to the standard GV60.
Performance Features and Modes
Driving modes include Boost, Drift, GT, and Sprint, along with launch control. The system also offers Range, Comfort, Sport, and a configurable My Drive Mode. A sport steering wheel includes dedicated Boost and Magma Mode buttons, with an orange Magma dial. The Boost button adds 30 kW (40 hp) and 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) for 15-second bursts, though sources differ on the exact torque increase, with some indicating a 15 lb-ft rise while others cite a 37 lb-ft increase from the standard 546 lb-ft to the peak 583 lb-ft.
The GV60 Magma features simulated 8-speed gear shifts and an e-Active Sound Design Plus system. This system uses two external speakers to simulate a six-cylinder engine revving to 9,000 rpm. An electronic limited slip differential and stroke-sensing electronically controlled suspension are included, along with bespoke Pirelli P Zero Elect tires.
Interior and Technology
Inside, a 27-inch OLED screen combines the instrument cluster and infotainment. A dedicated Magma section in the menu provides access to performance settings and metrics. The interior features Obsidian Black suede-like Chamude material on door panels, seats, and the headliner, along with brushed black aluminum trim. There is no white interior option.
Ten-way adjustable sports bucket seats offer heating and ventilation. Sources conflict regarding the contrast stitching on these seats, with some describing it as orange and others as white. Alloy pedals and a Bang & Olufsen premium audio system come standard.
Market Position and Brand Strategy
The GV60 Magma costs about $10,000 more than the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, specifically $10,050 more than the 2026 model, which recently saw a $6,300 price reduction. However, its delivery fee is $55 less than the Ioniq 5 N. Genesis stated that the GV60 Magma is not intended to be as extreme or focused as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N or Ioniq 6 N.
The vehicle competes with the BMW M2 and the Toyota GRMN Corolla, the latter priced at $64,360. In Australia, the GV60 Magma is priced from AU$130,000 (US$90,300) before on-road costs. Genesis currently serves more than 30 states in the US.
Genesis plans to expand the Magma lineup, including a potential GT supercar, and is considering GT3 racing. The sub-brand debuted at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the GMR-001 hypercar. Meanwhile, Mercedes-AMG is developing an electric GLA 45 expected to have 670 hp, though the CLA 45 EV will not be sold in the US.
