The number of 5G subscribers in Türkiye has reached 44.5 million in approximately four months, according to Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.
5G technology was officially launched on mobile networks in Türkiye on April 1. Since the launch, the technology has seen rapid adoption, with 21 million subscribers accessing the infrastructure on its first day of use.

Minister Uraloğlu stated that more than half of the population in Türkiye has connected with 5G, noting that one in every two people is now a 5G subscriber.
Impact on industry and smart cities
The technology offers ultra-low latency and high device connection capacity compared to 4.5G. Uraloğlu stated that 5G will accelerate digital processes in various sectors, including industry, health, transportation, agriculture, and the economy.
The Minister also noted that 5G is expected to bring innovative solutions to smart cities, covering fields from energy management to parking systems.
On the first day, 21 million subscribers met this technology. Today, it is 44.5 million.
