The agreement, which was formally announced on Wednesday, includes a commitment from Anthropic to purchase tens of billions of dollars worth of AMD’s latest AI server chips. As part of this computing power deal, the startup plans to deploy up to 2 gigawatts of AMD’s Instinct MI450 AI GPUs utilizing the new Helios rack-scale system. Following the announcement, AMD shares saw a decline in pre-market trading.
