The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has appointed former English referee Anthony Taylor as the Elite Referee Director of the Central Referee Committee (MHK).
Taylor ended his career as an active referee in July. He has held a FIFA badge since 2013 and has been described as one of the most stable referees in Premier League history.
In his new role, Taylor will lead the planning of technical development processes and strengthen performance evaluation systems. His responsibilities also include preparing training programs, developing match analysis and feedback processes, and creating referee development strategies in line with UEFA and FIFA standards.
The TFF stated that Taylor's international knowledge and high-level experience are expected to make significant contributions to the development of Turkish refereeing.
Officiating Record
Taylor's career includes officiating the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup Final and the 2021 UEFA Nations League Final. He also officiated the 2020 UEFA Super Cup Final.
In England, Taylor officiated the 2015 EFL Cup Final, the 2015 FA Community Shield, the 2017 and 2020 Emirates FA Cup finals, and the 2018 Championship Play-off Final.
Reports regarding his involvement in the UEFA Europa League Final vary, with sources identifying the match as either the 2022/2023 edition or the 2023 final.
