John Ternus is set to begin his role as the new CEO of Apple on September 1. As part of his leadership transition, Ternus is re-hiring Laura Legros, Bloomberg reported.
Legros previously served as the Vice President of Hardware Engineering at Apple before retiring from the company in 2022. Her former responsibilities included managing development timelines, product delivery processes, and coordination between engineering teams.
During her previous tenure, Legros introduced the 2018 MacBook Air at an Apple event. She also reportedly introduced the 2020 iPad Air.
Leadership Transition
According to sources, preparations for the transition from Tim Cook to John Ternus have been ongoing for months. For the last few months, Ternus has reportedly been leading senior executive meetings and closely following Cook.
The incoming CEO has reportedly participated in roadmap reviews for many departments by meeting with leaders across the company. Legros is expected to report directly to Ternus, according to sources.
Legros was known as one of Ternus's most trusted aides.
Ternus is expected to manage a process involving several high-level changes in the coming years, including leadership roles such as Phil Schiller and Luca Maestri, reportedly.
