ASELSAN has entered the mass production phase for its ASELBUOY P and ASELBUOY POD systems, developed for anti-submarine warfare capabilities. The transition to mass production follows the completion of verification studies for the technology.
The ASELBUOY P system utilizes a Directional Frequency Analysis and Recording (DIFAR) passive directional sensor to provide acoustic detection of underwater threats. This sensor can be lowered to a depth of 150 meters and operates within a frequency band of 5-2400 Hz.

The ASELBUOY P system is compliant with the A-size standard, which allows it to be placed directly into existing launch tubes on maritime patrol aircraft and helicopters without requiring modifications. The system is reported to be deployable from maritime patrol aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Data collected by the system is transmitted in real-time to air and surface platforms. This is achieved via RF communication through a communication system located on a surface buoy.
Modular deployment and integration
To facilitate the use of these tools, the ASELBUOY POD serves as a modular launcher system. It is designed to allow the safe and effective deployment of sonobuoys from various air platforms.
The ASELBUOY P and ASELBUOY POD systems provide an integrated solution for anti-submarine warfare.
The Turkish Naval Forces are expected to utilize the ASELBUOY P system across maritime patrol aircraft, helicopters, and surface platforms.
