Real estate developer Bonava has suffered a data breach that involved unauthorized access to personal data. The breach allowed unidentified individuals to access the company's customer relationship management and warranty case management systems.
Bonava stated that the compromised information includes names, addresses, contact details, dates of birth, contact preferences, and information related to housing preferences.
The company advised clients to be vigilant and cautious regarding unexpected emails, phone calls, or text messages requesting personal or sensitive information.
The Swedish police notified Bonava of a potential data breach on the previous Monday. A police report regarding the incident has been filed in Sweden, and the matter was reported to Estonia's Data Protection Inspectorate.
Bonava is one of 15 companies and organizations whose computer systems were illegally breached. The developer operates in Germany, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, having operated in Estonia for 19 years.
