Bose has announced a second-generation version of its entry-level QuietComfort noise-canceling headphones, marking the first hardware update for the line in three years. The original version of these headphones was introduced in late 2023.
The updated model features a refreshed design, including an upgraded headband, and a headband that is easier to adjust. For color options, the headphones will be available in black, white smoke, eucalyptus green, dewdrop mint, and rosewood mauve.
Immersive audio and enhanced ANC
The second-generation QuietComfort headphones now include Bose’s TrueSpatial immersive audio technology, a feature previously exclusive to the higher-priced QuietComfort Ultra series. This technology utilizes Bose Immersive Audio listening modes with side-to-side head tracking to simulate audio coming from a fixed location or to keep the sweet spot moving with the listener.
The headphones also feature a Cinema Mode designed to simulate a 'theater-like experience' by spatializing sounds to keep dialogue clear and centered during video playback or podcasts. Additionally, a USB-C audio connection is intended to deliver a clearer voice signal for videoconferencing applications.
The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) has been improved with an upgraded Aware mode that adjusts intensity in response to ambient changes, such as a passing vehicle. The six microphones used for ANC are designed to better compensate for gaps in the ear cup seal, which the company states helps maintain effectiveness for users wearing glasses.
Connectivity and battery life
The device supports Bluetooth with multipoint connectivity for pairing and switching between sources. For wired use, the headphones support lossless audio playback up to 24bit/48kHz via USB-C, allowing users to physically connect to an audio source.

Battery life is rated for up to 24 hours, or up to 18 hours when using Immersive Audio features. A 15-minute quick charge provides 2.5 hours of playback, and users can continue to use the headphones while they are charging over USB-C.
Availability and pricing
The second-generation QuietComfort headphones are priced at $359. Preorders are scheduled to begin on August 8th through Bose’s online store and other retailers, with shipping expected to start on August 13th.
