The death toll from flash flooding in China's Gansu province has risen from 10 to 25, according to state media reports.
State media reported that the flooding occurred at the Shuangshimen Scenic Area, a popular camping destination, on July 26. Video footage of the event shows a deluge moving through a valley where cars and tents were parked.
State news agency Xinhua reported that the deaths occurred in Weiyuan county, Gansu, and noted that 23 people were injured in the flash floods.

National emergency responses and investigations
China's National Commission for Disaster Prevention, Reduction and Relief said it would oversee an investigation into the Gansu flash flood. The commission also asked the provincial government to investigate the incident and improve emergency response measures.
In Heilongjiang, state media reported that China's Ministry of Water Resources activated a level 4 emergency flood control response on Saturday. State media reported that a level 4 response is the lowest level in the country's four-tier flood response system.
Xinhua reported that 19 rivers in Heilongjiang have flooded, with some water levels exceeding warning thresholds by up to 1.3 metres (4.3 feet).
Broad weather warnings and landslide risks
State media reported that Level 4 flood alerts were in place in the provinces of Gansu, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Henan, and Hubei. Additionally, state media reported that Beijing and Inner Mongolia issued weather warnings on Sunday.
China's weather observatory warned of thunderstorms, high winds, and heavy rain across a large stretch of the country from the southwest to the northeast. Authorities have also warned of further landslides, including in Dingxi, as heavy rain continues during the annual flood season.
