According to Changan, Deepal, a brand under Changan, has launched pre-sales for the renewed S05 model, an electric SUV. The vehicle is scheduled for market release on August 6.
The S05 utilizes a 'flying shadow' design language, characterized by petal-shaped 'Deepal Eye' LED headlights, a closed front grille, and new decorative lines in the front section. The exterior also includes chrome-detailed body protections, frameless doors, semi-hidden door handles, and new 18-inch alloy wheels.
Technology and performance
According to Changan, higher trim levels of the Deepal S05 include an integrated LiDAR sensor on the roof and a total of 26 high-precision sensors. The SUV is powered by the SDA Pilot intelligent driving system, which reportedly covers over 90 functions, including urban driving, highway pilot, and autonomous parking.
According to Changan, the fully electric version of the S05 uses an XTDM67 coded permanent magnet synchronous motor that produces 272 horsepower (202 kW), allowing the vehicle to reach 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. The model utilizes CATL cells and the brand's 'Golden Bell' battery technology, offering CLTC ranges of 520 km and 620 km.

Interior and storage
The cabin features leather coverings, wood-look panels, and 256-color ambient lighting as standard equipment. A 15.6-inch 2.5K resolution floating screen is positioned in the center of the driver area. Design updates include the removal of full-size ventilation grilles in the center console, the return of mechanical door handles, and the relocation of the gear lever to the steering column.
The interior is offered in three color options: Nebula Purple, Heatwave Orange, and Star Rock Grey. Regarding storage, the vehicle offers 37 different storage areas, including a 492-liter dual-layer trunk and a 159-liter front trunk space.
Pricing and availability
The Deepal S05 will be available in five different equipment options. Pre-sale prices range between 119,900 yuan and 151,900 yuan, which is approximately 17,600-22,300 USD.
