EA Sports FC 27 will feature a new open-world feature called 'The Grounds.' The system is designed to expand the Clubs mode from a matchmaking function into a permanently active online world, according to EA Sports.
The Grounds is built around a central hub called 'The Terrace' and allows up to 100 players to gather simultaneously. The area consists of three distinct districts: Montclair, Zeiza, and Parkside, inspired by the football cultures of Great Britain, France, and Argentina.
Maximum number of players that can gather in The Grounds simultaneously
The environment includes various game modes, such as 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and 11v11. It also features a 'Small-sided' mode that includes 'Rush' matches lasting three minutes. Additionally, The Grounds includes mini-games combining football with elements of basketball, dodgeball, or boccia.
Clubs mode and customization updates
In the Clubs mode of EA Sports FC 27, all archetypes will be unlocked at the start of the game. Players can switch between different archetypes for free at any time.
The success of a Club is intended to be visible within The Grounds through features such as an upgraded clubhouse or more fans wearing club colors. The Grounds will be continuously updated throughout the year with new seasons, events, rewards, and content.
