Emma Raducanu will miss the US Open due to a stress fracture in her right leg, British media reported on Monday. The injury occurred in her right lower leg during the grass-court season.

The 23-year-old British number one made the decision to miss the tournament after consultations with her medical team.

The injury previously forced Raducanu to pull out of Wimbledon. She was also seen returning to the court recently wearing a protective boot.

Previous injury setbacks

Raducanu's preparations have faced multiple obstacles in recent periods. A foot injury hampered her pre-season training last year, and she spent two and a half months off court following a post-viral illness after falling unwell in early February.

Despite these challenges, Raducanu reached the final at Queen's Club in June and rehired coach Andrew Richardson for the conclusion of the clay-court season.
