The Ethereum Foundation (EF) has appointed pcaversaccio, a security researcher and co-founder of SEAL 911, to its board, according to multiple sources.

Pcaversaccio, also known as Pascal Caversaccio, will serve an initial one-year voluntary term, as reported.

The EF board now consists of four members: President Aya Miyaguchi, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, Swiss legal counsel Patrick Storchenegger, and pcaversaccio.

The board is responsible for setting the strategic vision of the EF, ensuring alignment with its values, and serving as a 'security council' that safeguards the mission and ensures compliance with Swiss law.

Pcaversaccio is also a member of the EF's Silviculture Society, an advisory group focusing on censorship resistance, open source development, privacy, and security.

According to the Ethereum Foundation, its protocol team will translate research—including layer-1 privacy and post-quantum security—into changes that preserve Ethereum's self-sovereignty. This was reported by a source citing the foundation's statement.

In recent months, a number of high-profile researchers and executives have departed the EF, according to one report. This context was not mentioned in other reports covering the board appointment.
